HANAZONO PARK UPDATE January 2012

With over a total of 10 metres of snowfall for the season so far, the HanazonoPark digger team have been working over-time to keep up with the snow to expandterrain and the parks. The main park has two big lines for intermediate and advancedriders, complete with a huge 13 metre cheese wedge kicker, also a new featurefor this year is the banked run in between the two lines- check the video below!

For those looking to learn the basics of freestyle snowboarding, try the features at Hanazono Beginners Park at the baseof HANAZONO.

Thehalf pipe is now cut and looking great, just some last minute fine tuning to bedone before tomorrow’s opening. (conditions allowing) The HANAZONO half pipe isthe only FIS approved half pipe in Hokkaido, we will be hosting state andnational championships in Febraury and March- click HERE for details

3rd Annual Niseko Winter Music Festival

The 3rd Annual Niseko Winter Music Festival will be held over three nights from January 12th to 14th 2012, just one week from today!
Nine of the principal artists from the ACO will perform this year, including Richard Tognetti (violin), Satu Vanska (violin, Assistant Leader of the ACO), Julian Thompson (cello), Maxim Bibeau (double bass), and Aiko Goto (violin).

From today, 1^st Sep 2011, theHanazono Activity Centre returns to normal operation hours, 9:00am to 4:00pm,every day of the week.

The Wake Park, MTB Park and trails,BagJump, Zipline and Kids Activities operate through to October 10^th.

There is still plenty of white water actionto be had on the Shiribetsu River, with Rafting and Ducky runningthrough to late October.

Autumn is a spectacular time of year tovisit Hanazono as the deep green landscape transforms to glowing golds andvibrant reds. The Hanazono MTB X Country course has been upgraded to meet the JCF Japan Series J1 Class standard, and is now open to the public!

Following on from the success of the first J Series J3 MTB competition held last year, we are excited to announce the fourth competition of the J1 Japan Series will take place at Hanazono, July 1st - 3rd 2011!

XCTT Time Trial Sat July 2nd
Time trials held on a short X Country Course. Men's categories are divided up into lower elementary, higher elementary, Junior High, Under 19, 20-24, 25-30, 31-34, 35 and above. Ladies will be divided into two age categories.

Adults 1,000yen JCF/HCF/JMA/DoRide Registration 500yen
Child 500yen JCF/JMA/DoRide Registration 200yen

X Country Sun July 3rd
X Country Race held on the full MTB trail at Hanazono Resort. Free lessons available on Sat afternoon.
Beginners: Both ladies and men divided into 2 categories- junior high-34, 35 and above. 3,500(HCF/JMA/DoRide registration 2,500yen)
Sports: Official race for both ladies and men with points awarded. 4,000yen or 6,000yen with registration.
Expert: Official race for registered expert riders 5,000yen (Must be registered with JCF)
Elite: 4th race of the Japan series. 6,000yen (Must be registered with JCF)

Kids X Country Sun July 3rd
A short course for kids as young as three years of age, divided into age categories. Top finishers will qualify to enter the National Elementary and Junior High Competition to be held in August. 1,500yen (HCF/JMA/DoRide Registration 1,000yen)

2010/11 Winter Season

As of April 3rd, Niseko Hanazono Resort is now closed for the 2010/11 season. We look back on what was another great season, although a slightly slow start we had some big snowfalls through January and February and a maximum snow depth of over 4.5 metres at the top of the resort.

We would like to thank the 200+ entrants, spectators, and all those involved in helping make the Monthly Free Style Competition series such a success. We hope to expand the competition next year and look forward to your continued support!

As the snow begins to melt, we are in preparation for the green season with Spring rafting starting April 23rd 2011, Tokyu Niseko Golf Course May 14th and the Hanazono Activity Centre including Summer BagJump, MTB, Wakeboard, trekking and a lot more to open June 25th 2011!

Niseko Hanazono Resort Operation Changes

Due to the need to conserve energy following the Northen Japan Earthquake and Tsunami, The Hanazono April Park, initially scheduled to be open between 8 to 10 April has been cancelled. We apologise to all that have been looking forward to the park but appreciate your understanding.

The following changes have also been made to operations at Niseko Hanazono Resort:

The BagJump is currently closed for maintenance. While repairs are being made, the kicker will be re-shaped as a quarter pipe and will reopen shortly. For more details please call the number below

Waterfall gate is now closed for the season (Above the rope tow at Hanazono #2). With warmer temperatures there is a risk of avalanche in this area, please do not enter.

The Spring Clean at Fusion Hirafu and Hanazono continues with up to 40% discounts off popular brands. Demo The Vale closed yesterday, 20th March. Please visit us at Demo Hirafu, open every day of the week from 8am to 8pm.

We are currently offering 20% off all of Snowmobile tours at Hanazono.

The rope tow above Hanazono #2 will finish operations for the season today, Mon 21st March.

The Hanazono Free shuttle is running as per usual every morning and afternoon but due to fuel restrictions mid-day services will be limited.

Niseko Hanazono Resort Update

We would like to offer our deepest sympathies and heartfelt feelings to all affected following the impact from the recent earthquake and tsunami. If you have friends or family in the Niseko area please rest assured there have been no reports of any injuries or damage whatsoever and as Niseko is located more than 600km from the Fukushima nuclear reactors authorities assure us there is no health risk in Hokkaido.
In an effort to raise funds, conserve energy and fuel the following changes have been made to Niseko Hanazono Resort operations:

Due to fuel restrictions the Hanazono Free shuttle is running as per usual every morning and afternoon but mid-day services are limited.

The Salomon BBR Testing tour is cancelled.

The Hanazono Slopestyle competition will be held as planned, on the 19th March. All entries fees will be donated to Red Cross Japan.

Operations in Niseko remain unaffected by Earthquake

The recent earthquakes were recorded as 3 on the Richter scale in the Niseko area but have caused no damage to the resort or lifts and operations remain unaffected.
On behalf of all staff here at Niseko Hanazono Resort I would like to express our sympathies to all that have been affected, we are deeply shocked by the unbelievable devastation in northern Japan.
The Niseko Promotion Board and Kutchan Tourism Association have set up donation boxes that can be found at locations throughout Niseko, including Hanazono 308. Money raised will be passed to Red Cross Japan.

BAGJUMP is now open!

BAGJUMP is an innovative tool to practice freestyle jumps safely. It is a giant multi chambered Airbag used instead of a hard landing to practice new Tricks and have fun without getting hurt.
The airbag is 3 metres high, the landing area is 15 x 15 metres across. It will entice you to try tricks you have only dreamed about and brings a new element to freestyle safety. Take your skills to the next level, whether it is learning basic straight air or technical back flips. Spectators are also welcome to come watch the action.
The BAGJUMP at Hanazono is free of charge! All you need is a Niseko Lift Pass and a helmet (helmet rental available at Fusion).

Japan Salomon BBR Testing Tour 2011-Cancelled

Niseko HANAZONO Resort is proud to be participating in the Japan Salomon BBR Testing Tour 2011.
Shaped by Bertrand Kraft, a man inspired by surfing, kite surfing and all gliding sports on snow and water, the new BBR ski has the potential to change our perception of the way alpine skis should be shaped. Boasting an entirely unique design with oversized tip and slight rocker shape for powder days, combined with a narrow waist, pintail and short turn radius for on-piste performance, they are a powder ski that carves on-piste and a piste ski that floats in powder.
